Is Spending The Total Salary in a Purse Stupid or Brave?
Posted by writer | Under hangdbags Wednesday Sep 15, 2010It is not rare to hear that a friend around us who is called a shopaholic has just purchased a so-called well-known brand purse by making out a check for the amount of his or her total salary of a month. Someone may consider it as one of the most unreasonable and absurd behaviors. While today, more and more people are turning to be the adherents of this consumption conception.
A SHOPAHOLIC
The society we are living in lays stress on the importance of personal freedom and democracy. Accordingly, our young generations are getting more and more personalized and independent. They were once pushed into the limelight of the public opinion, while they have stood the test of time and have proved to others that they are not the ‘Beaten Generations’, they are strong and determined enough to shoulder the burden of the community. The most obvious feature of these young generations is that they have learned more about enjoying a life instead of just living a life. It is the very feeling expressed in a poem by Li Bai—‘a man of spirit venture where he pleases, and never tip his golden cup empty toward the moon!
Therefore, do not be too harsh to yourself. After a weary month of hard working, it is no big deal to purchase the purse which you have long been yearning for as a treat to yourself. It can remind you that life is a cup of Cappuccino: it is a stream of marvelous and mellowed fragrance after the first sip rather than only a mouth of bitter and astringent tastes. Sometimes, it also stands for an optimistic attitude towards life, mirroring that these young generations are trying to pursue a qualified life. For what the luxuries bring to us are more chances to enjoy life to the full instead of only a satisfaction of our vanities.
So try to be an apprehensive friend when this situation is encountered by you. Give your warm applause to the one who is brave enough to spend all the salary in a month in a purse only if he or she has played all his or her roles in the society perfectly, such as a son or a daughter, an employee, or a taxpayer since everyone in the world is entitled to enjoy a life of high quality , regardless of social status or background.
